Update (Oct. 2020): A Stronger Vancouver initiative was placed on hold in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City Manager's Recommended 2021-22 Budget includes revisiting the initiative in 2021. It is anticipated that City Council will begin discussions about a path forward in early 2021.

Improve streets, sidewalks, lighting, pedestrian crossing, signals, public spaces & landscaping in key commercial districts throughout the city

Replace Fire Stations 3 & 6 to improve response times and preparedness and resilience for first responders

Renovate and seismically upgrade Fire Stations 4, 5 and 8 to improve preparedness and resilience for first responders

Replace the Public Works Operations Center to improve preparedness and operational efficiency

Redesign and rebuild Marine Park and Bagley Park to improve picnic, play and interactive space and enable these parks to host community events

Add three new dog parks to David Douglas, Marine and Fenton Parks

Build nine new neighborhood parks in areas of the city where they currently do not exist

Improve 14 parks across the city by replacing playground equipment and upgrading park features, such as tables, benches, paths and signage
