ABOUT

About

With public input, City and community leaders have identified projects and programs intended to keep our city thriving over the next decade. The proposed plan is called A Stronger Vancouver.

Safe

  • Make our operations and fire station buildings earthquake safe

  • Increase safety in our parks by upgrading outdated playgrounds and increasing accessibility

  • Create safer roads for everyone – pedestrians, cyclists and drivers

Livable

  • Invest in areas of the city that have been underfunded in the past

  • Develop attractive public spaces for residents

  • Enhance neighborhoods by improving parks with new picnic tables, benches, paths and signage

Good Jobs

  • Attract businesses by improving and building new public infrastructure

  • Make our downtown and other commercial areas vibrant and attractive to employers and employees

  • Create the opportunity for thousands of new high-quality jobs in improved business areas

City Council is continuing their deliberations on the recommendations in the Stronger Vancouver package. Read the Community Feedback & Engagement report presented to City Council >

Update: After being put on hold due to the pandemic in March 2020, A Stronger Vancouver will now be part of the City’s next strategic plan. In 2021, City Council determined that integrating A Stronger Vancouver with the strategic plan would provide a unified approach and a clear planning process for community involvement.
